FreeScriptureTunes

I'll leave this site here but am excited to announce that I regained ownership of the www.freescripturetunes.org domain.  YAY!!!  :D

See my previous post if you're wondering why this is a big deal for me.

Unfortunately, I no longer own freescipturetunes.org as someone else purchased the domain when my registration lapsed (worse yet, the new owner's content is not even related).  I must have been spoiled with my previous provider e-mailing me renewal reminders.  However, it is totally my fault for not keep track myself.  I deeply apologize any inconevience I may have caused.

I'm guessing most people view FST videos from YouTube but, because I cannot control which "related" videos show up after a video on YouTube, I feel having a separate website is a safer environment for younger viewers .

With that said...welcome to the new FST site!  Don't forget to bookmark FST so you can check back later.  I'm so thankful for the opportunity  to help you learn a few verses in a fun way.  :)

Please contact me through the "Contact FST" link above if you have FST related questions.

I'm looking for an efficient way of getting lyrics on video. I'd LOVE to get back
into doing this again but...between 2 jobs, the time to record, and how long it
takes me to get a video together - it's hard to squeeze in the time.

I was creating PowerPoint slides, saving screen-shots into MS Paint, and importing them to Windows
Movie Maker.  Then I'd import my audio and work on video.  Any suggestions?

Thanks! :o)

When we need to know the facts on something, where do we go?  Do we go to the mechanic for help when we’re sick?  No way!  We want to see a physician, right?  So why wouldn't we use the same principle when we talk about God?

There are many ideas about who God is…but how can we know what God really says about Himself?  We have to go right to the source -- the Bible, which is God's word to us.  There is so much God wants us to know and apply (live out) but we cannot live a life of obedience to Him when we can’t even remember what we're commanded to do?  I think this is one of the reasons the psalmist wrote the following in Psalm 110:9-11:

9   How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.

                10  I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.

11  I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119 shows some reasons why we should memorize Scripture but there are also other places in the Bible which show its value.  A few examples are found in Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Deuteronomy; 11:18-21; Joshua 1:7-8; Psalm 119:11 and Col 3:16.

Okay, so we know we should learn verses but perhaps it seems impossible to accomplish.  People have different ways of learning and making up songs works for me, so I'm guessing it might work for others as well.  That's exactly why FreeScripturetunes.org exists.  Hopefully, these tunes will not only make memorizing verses easier but that you'll come to enjoy it too!

FST’s theme = “Singing God’s Word Into Our Hearts”.
FST’s key verse = Psalm 119:11,  “I have hidden your word in my heart  that I might not sin against you.”

FreeScriptureTunes (FST) stemmed out of my struggle to memorize things.  I started using songs after a roommate taught me a song for 1 Corinthians 15:58.  Once I knew that song, learning the verse was a breeze!

Although my songs are not of high quality, my prayer is that the melodies here will not only make Scripture memorization fun but easier for kids (young and young-at-heart).
